TAG – Training Accessibility Guidelines (Question 5 & 6)
The examples discussed below will focus on using two popular training development tools (Articulate Storyline 2 and Camtasia Studio).
Content will focus on how you can meet the success criteria for each section of the WCAG 2.0 Guidelines.
Content Recommendation is for the following WCAG 2.0 Sections:
1.2.1 Prerecorded Audio-only and Video-only
1.2.2 Captions (Prerecorded)
1.2.3 Audio Description or Media Alternative (Prerecorded)
1.2.4 Captions (Live)
1.2.5 Audio Description (Prerecorded)
1.2.7 Extended Audio Description (Prerecorded)
1.2.8 Media Alternative (Prerecorded)
1.2.9 Audio-only (Live)
Questions to consider:
Does your media provide ADA Complaint Captions? |
Does your media provide a downloadable descriptive transcript for example SRT Captions? |
How Articulate Storyline 2 can meet success criteria:
- By using Camtasia to create ADA complaint open captions.
- Export Camtasia Transcript SRT file and include a link to the file from Articulate Storyline 2.
- Use the Articulate Storyline 2 accessible multimedia player that has accessible keyboard controls.
- Ensure all on screen objects have a transcribed description of each object.
