I was recently asked a question regarding how to setup an LMS. Specifically the question was related to setting up and configuring a SharePoint LMS.
Here were my recommendations:
- Since SharePoint costs are often related to the number of users a good starting point for testing would be to use a SharePoint Service Provider (Free Plan) such as Apps4Rent.
SharePoint LMS Options
Next you would need to select your type of LMS here are just a few to consider:
- Create your own LMS using SharePoint Designer
- Use an existing provider (Select $1 month package for testing) such as LMS365 Cloud Pricing
- Use a free open source provider such as SharePoint Learning Kit
My final recommendation was if the end goal was just to test out courses on an LMS to simply use Moodle. Specially the free MoodleCloud Service. Another consideration would be a SharePoint and Moodle Integration.
